Types of roasters include direct-fired roasters and hot-air roasters, as well as semi-hot blast roasters that are positioned between the other two types. Direct-fired and semi-hot blast roasters have poor thermal efficiency and are suited to roasting small quantities of beans, while the thermally efficient hot-air roasters are ideal for roasting large quantities of beans.
