701：Considering the environment through coffee

Just as there is a push for conservation of the ecosystem, UCC's directly managed plantations have been producing coffee in a way that is kind to humans and to the environment. Likewise, our factories aim to achieve zero waste with initiatives in place to use wastes from coffee extraction as fuel.
At UCC drinks factories such as the UCC Shiga factory, CO2 is reduced through initiatives such as the recycling of extraction wastes within factories through combustion in "biomass boilers".
Wastes from coffee extraction have a deodorizing effect that efficiently absorbs ammonia. We hope that you will all try using coffee wastes as deodorants at home.
