For us at UCC, coffee is more than a beverage. We are moved and excited by the delicious taste of coffee. We love this drink and want to share it with the world. That passion is at the origin of UCC's business. We continue to communicate this message with the world in a range of ways, broadcasting the news about the coffee culture and contributing to its ongoing creation.
UCC opened the UCC Coffee Museum in Kobe on October 1, 1987, covering a wide range of information on coffee. The day is known as 'Coffee Day' (now 'International Coffee Day').
Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the museum was closed in March 2020. Then, starting in March 2021, the museum began welcoming visitors again on a reservation-only basis for limited purposes, such as seminars.
A grand reopening is planned around summer 2026, with the aim of preserving, advancing, generating, and sharing knowledge of coffee.
In April 2007, UCC Group opened the UCC Coffee Academy in Kobe, bringing together the best of its expertise and techniques in coffee cultivated since its founding. At the academy, students can learn about all aspects of coffee in a systematic and progressive manner.
The academy offers a multi-level curriculum designed for a wide range of students—from general consumers and aspiring restaurant owners to professional baristas—covering everything from the basics to specialized knowledge and skills.
In April 2015, the academy opened a new Tokyo campus with a UCC Group Showroom, where visitors can experience the Group’s comprehensive coffee solutions.
In February 2023, following the relocation of the UCC Group's Tokyo headquarters, the campus moved to Akasaka (Minato-ku, Tokyo). Equipped with a showroom, the campus now serves as a one-stop solution for a wide variety of coffee-related offerings.
Starting in 2023, the academy has been committed to contributing to the development of the coffee industry by offering SCA-certified international educational programs, and has been working to create an environment that supports students' career development.
